At this time of year...yes I'm going to say it...NEARLY CHRISTMAS time of year; I get it into my head that I must dress baby toe to longest hair on my head in tartan. I have no idea where this notion has come from. Nothing to do with Scottish highlands, snow on the ground, gazing at dancing flames in the fire whilst cradling a wee dram of whiskey; eyeing up that mounted moose head on the wall thinking 'That would look amazing in my living room' . OK so maybe my tartan thoughts have stemmed from the over-workings of my imaginative imaginings?!
There is something so comforting within a tartan print...all similar in style yet so individual in meaning.I feel like I'm coming home when I wear tartan and can't help but absorb it's combinations of colour and pattern. Green and red are my favourite tartans hands down - I am traditional sometimes.
There are many wondrous tartan garments out there for the wearing...wacky and classic. When all is said and done though, it doesn't matter how it is styled; tartan is tartan. Beautiful and timeless.
